Abstract:Metal structure failure is often due to metal corrosion, so it is important to improve the corrosion resistance of protective coatings and extend the life of metal structures. The effects of three different types of silane coupling agents, vinyl silane coupling agent, amino silane coupling agent and epoxy silane coupling agent are investigated, on the coverage ability and corrosion resistance of waterborne epoxy coatings, and the type and dosage of the silane coating agents with the optimum corrosion protection performance are determined. The results show that the coverage ability of the coating becomes better when the silane coupling agent is added to the waterborne epoxy coating, and the results of the chemical medium resistance test and electrochemical corrosion current density test show that the dosage of the three types of silane coupling agent with the best effect of improving the corrosion resistance compared with that of the blank group is 1%, and the corrosion current density of the added 1% aminosilane coupling agent is 0.0049 μA/cm2 after 60 d, which is significantly lower than the other two types of silane coupling agent. The content of this paper can provide a reference for waterborne epoxy resin and other waterborne anticorrosive coatings to improve their anticorrosive properties.
