As a treasure of human history and culture, traditional villages contain rich architectural, cultural and landscape resources. These villages not only record the development of human civilization, but also show a variety of cultural arts. Taking Xingmuyuan village, Shiyaotuo town, Lingling District, Yongzhou as an example, the style and characteristics of Xingmuyuan village are analyzed from three aspects: natural environment, site selection and historical changes, and protection strategies are proposed. The results show that Xingmuyuan village has historical value, artistic value, social value and scientific value of four aspects of the protection value. This paper can provide useful ideas and methods for protection and promotion of traditional villages.
