The stability of slurry shield tunneling face is closely related to the formation of mud film. In order to analyze the relationship between the main parameters affecting the formation of mud film (relative density and viscosity) and different ground soil layers, the main value ranges of mud relative density and viscosity suitable for different soil layers were obtained through statistical analysis of a large number of engineering data. Research results show that the relative density of mud was proportional to the viscosity; the recommended range for the relative density of shield tunneling slurry is 1.08~1.20 g/cm3, and the viscosity range is 24~28 s, the statistical results are applied to the slurry shield tunnel. The research results can provide reference for the selection of slurry shield mud parameters under similar engineering background.
