Abstract:To evaluate the reliability and applicability of pile foundation load testing methods, It is of great significant to enhance the accuracy of pile foundation testing. Taking the quality inspection of pile foundations for a large power plant as the research subject, three test piles in the post-grouting bored pile test area are respectively tested using the static load test method and high strain dynamic testing method. The testing results are comprehensively compared and analyzed against theoretical calculations. The results show that compared to the high strain method, the static load test provides more direct and accurate detection results, offering a truer reflection of the actual bearing capacity of the pile foundation. However, the implementation of the static load test is time-consuming and comes with relatively higher economic costs. Both the static load test and high strain method yielded measured characteristic values of bearing capacity that exceeded the standard characteristic values set during design, meeting design requirements. The bearing capacity test results obtained from both methods corresponded with the results calculated by theoretical formulas; however, the characteristic value of bearing capacity obtained by the high strain method is smaller than that derived from the static load test. With its efficient and economical characteristics, the high strain method can serve as an effective supplement to the static load test in the field of pile foundation bearing capacity testing. The outcomes of this study can provide reference and guidance for pile foundation testing in similar engineering projects.
