Abstract:Rectangular space truss is a common structural form in industrial buildings. The traditional design often simplifies the nodes into hinges and ignores the secondary stress, and there is insufficient research on the stability of the vertical web members of the enclosed truss under wind load. This paper takes a steel truss commonly used in engineering as research object, and compares and analyzes the influence of secondary stress on the stability of the upper and lower chords, and the influence of wind load on the stability of the vertical web, and studies the influence of torsional buckling on the vertical web members (double angle steel combined section). The results of this study show that the secondary stress in the truss has an impact on the stability of the structure that cannot be ignored; the wind load has a significant impact on the stability of the truss vertical web member, and its should not be too small during engineering design.
