Abstract:In order to solve the problem that zirconium resources in coastal placer are difficult to recover efficiently, for a low-grade quartzite-type coastal placer, the experimental research on process mineralogy and beneficiation is systematically carried out. The occurrence characteristics and separation laws of valuable elements are identified. The results show that the ZrO2 mass fraction of the coastal placer is 0.10%, the mud content is high (<0.038 mm accounting for 18.67%), and it is rich in shell fragments. The dissociation degree of zircon monomer is high, but the particle size is fine (10-50 μm). Based on the above characteristics, pre-enrichment and gravity-magnetic-electrostatic separation tests are carried out, and the beneficiation process is determined by condition optimization. The combined process of "chute pre-enrichment-shaking table cleaning-magnetic separation for impurity removal-electrostatic separation for purification" is adopted to obtain zircon concentrate with a yield of 0.03%, a ZrO2 grade of 63.18%, and a recovery rate of 16.98%, and a mixed zirconium concentrate with a yield of 0.06%, a ZrO? grade of 26.82%, and a recovery rate of 15.91%, and the comprehensive recovery rate of zirconium minerals is 32.89%. The results can provide a technical reference for the resource utilization of similar low-grade coastal placer.
