To address this limitation, the drawbacks of conventional localization techniques are analyzed and a novel approach that integrates step-scanning imaging with the time-reversal method is proposed. This proposed method can achieve damage localization using only two sensors. Subsequently, a damage model of an aluminum plate was established using the finite element software Abaqus to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. The results indicate that: 1) the improved method successfully localizes damage on the aluminum plate; 2) the localization error is less than 1 mm. The findings of this study provide a valuable reference for related research in this field.
